TRANSFORM OLD INK INTO A MASTERPIECE
Honest clinical assessment, anatomical camouflage, and optical transformation of existing tattoos.
CLINICAL COVER-UP FEASIBILITY NOTICE
Cover-up feasibility depends entirely on an in-person or photo diagnostic of the existing ink's saturation, scarring, and age. We never make blanket guarantees without seeing your skin.
ABOUT THIS DISCIPLINE
Cover-up tattooing is an optical science. You cannot simply tattoo light ink over dark ink; old pigment rests in the deeper dermis. At INKORA, our cover-up specialists leverage strategic negative space, directional flow, and dark surrealist textures to redirect the human eye away from old tattoos.
WHO THIS DISCIPLINE SUITS BEST:
ANATOMICAL CONSIDERATIONS
A successful cover-up design typically requires 2.5x to 3x the surface area of the original tattoo.
Can be slightly higher over scarred tissue; our artists work with gentle technique and frequent pauses.
14 to 21 days between layered sessions.
- Darkness and density of existing tattoo pigment
- Scale required for complete optical distraction
- Number of layered sessions needed
We provide an honest feasibility breakdown. If a cover-up is not feasible without prior laser fading, we will inform you clearly.
HOW WE CRAFT YOUR COVER-UP
Pigment & Scar Tissue Diagnosis
We examine old ink saturation, scar tissue texture, and skin undertones under surgical studio lighting.
Optical Camouflage Architecture
We engineer a new design where high-detail focal points draw attention while heavy textures engulf old contours.
Multi-Pass Execution
Executed in 2 or more phased passes allowing settled ink to be assessed before final saturation passes.

Can every tattoo be 100% covered without laser?
We believe in total transparency: not every tattoo can be covered instantly without prior laser lightening. Deeply scarred or jet-black solid tattoos may show through if forced into a small design. Our artists will provide an honest assessment during consultation.
What tattoo styles work best for cover-ups?
Blackwork, heavy neo-traditional, Japanese irezumi (dragons/clouds), and dark botanical florals provide the optimal density and natural shadows needed for camouflage.
